Evanston Symphony Orchestra
Karen LeFrak’s American Promise receives its Illinois premiere with narrator Tim Rhoze and the Evanston Symphony Orchestra.
This free concert, 7:00 p.m. Aug. 12, 2026, at the Wallace Bowl in Gillson Park, Wilmette, is an all-American program to celebrate the founding of the U.S. 250 years ago, featuring works pertinent to the anniversary by exclusively American composers. Bring a picnic to enjoy and your own chairs or you can sit on the semi-circular stone and grass seats.

Ravenna Festival
Original choreography by Maria Konrad, titled Dea, is set to Karen LeFrak’s composition Space and danced by Adji Cissoko (Alonzo King LINES Ballet).
The set is part of “Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow” at the Ravenna Festival, the closing gala of the Youth Grand Prix Europe international masterclass.

The New York City Opera musicians, led by Maestro Constantine Orbelian, will perform the string quintet & clarinet version of Prairie Dawn at the Bryant Park Picnic Performances. Choreographer Maria Konrad choreographed the work with dancers from Youth America Grand Prix under the auspices of Larissa Savaliev.
